2022 DG Classic

Host Course

Klein Creek Golf Club
Winfield, Illinois

Under New Ownership & Management since 2019, the club has recently completed several golf course and clubhouse upgrades. At 6,700 yards the championship course, designed by Dick Nugent in 1994, is challenging for even the most accomplished of players. Each hole is designed to create a memorable golfing experience while the four sets of tees will also allow the high handicapper to enjoy larger fairway landing areas. The bunker renovation started in 2019 and several more bunkers will be complete by early summer of 2021. The vision of the bunker renovation was to remove upwards of 35% of the bunkers making the course more playable. All bunker drainage was replaced and new, tour-quality Pro Angle sand was installed. The eliminated bunkers were converted into grass and waste bunkers. Additional golf course renovations include a cart path project and irrigation upgrades. A new fleet of 2020 Yamaha Quietech golf cars were also purchased. All the improvements will restore the golf course to a once again “must play” course. Whether your favorite is the 9th hole, a Par 4 rated as the most challenging ninth hole in Chicago or the 17th, a Par 3 surrounded by sand and water, it is easy to understand why both Chicagoland Golf and Golf Digest have identified Klein Creek as one of the area's premier public courses.
